The Indian government banned the 43 Chinese apps including the aliexpress app and their website in India. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology banned these 43 apps under Section 69A of the information technology act.

It is one of the most visited e-commerce websites in Russia and was the 10th most popular website in brazil. AliExpress does not sell to customers in mainland China. As of 2020, Alibaba has the sixth-highest global brand valuation. by this action Alibaba group can face losses of millions of dollars.
